Broccoli salad recipe
Many versions of this classic salad can be found in delis, supermarkets and maybe in your mother’s recipe file. This one is very, very good and I can honestly say that I cannot make this as well as my mother.

Cut bacon into 1⁄3-inch (1-cm) pieces and crisp in a frying pan. Drain off excess fat and place bacon on a paper towel to cool. In a large mixing bowl, combine broccoli, onion, cheese, raisins, orange segments and the dressing and mix well. Let rest for several hours before serving so flavours can meld. Place in a large serving bowl and garnish with almonds, pecans or other nuts of your choice.
